The following lectures will be held in the mornings (all lectures will be given in English):
Day 1 - Optical and Fluorescence Microscopy: Microscope components, Alignment, Differential Interference Contrast (DIC), Phase contrast, Principles of fluorescence imaging, Fluorochromes
Day 2 - Contrast Enhancement Techniques: Structured illumination microscopy (Apotome), Deconvolution, Confocal laser scanning microscopy, PALM, Two-photon fluorescence excitation
Day 3 - Applications: Camera types (CCD Scmos, EMCCD), Spinning disk confocal microscopy, Light sheet microscopy, Detectors, Electron to optical correlative microscopy
Practical training: In the afternoons of days 1 and 2, participants with full registration will receive detailed hands-on training in small groups and can test their own samples on the following microscopes (preliminary list):

The same microscopes are available in the afternoon of day 3. Participants with full registration will have the opportunity to further test the scope(s) of their choice with their samples. One-day-only participants are welcome to test all microscopes.
Basic training sessions for microscope alignment will be available on all three afternoons.
