Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game is not only a pretty decent adaptation of a graphic novel into a video game, it’s also a phenomenal game on its own. Unfortunately, due to legal reasons, Ubisoft no longer has Scott Pilgrim available for sale. That could change, if the creator of Scott Pilgrim has anything to say about it.
Bryan Lee O’Malley, the creator of the Scott Pilgrim comic books, recently posted on Twitter that his life goal is to get the video game rereleased.
If you missed Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game originally, it plays like a classic 2D beat-em-up like the Ninja Turtles or Double Dragon games. For added depth, there is also an RPG element thrown in, allowing you to spend in-game money on upgrades and bonuses.
Like any great old-school game, there is also co-op for up to 4 players. Tearing through virtual Toronto as Scott, Ramona, Steven and Kim is even better when you have friends by your side.
Unfortunately, no plans have been mentioned for O’Malley to actually get the game back on digital store shelves. IP rights are strange things though, so who knows how all this could shake out?
If you still want to play Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game, reports online suggest certain GameStop locations are still selling download codes. This is pretty much the only way you can still get the game, so try calling a few stores near you and hope you get lucky.
